Pak Hok Kung Fu is one of the outstanding schools of Chinese Martial Arts ; it originated in Tibet through a Tibetan Lama (a lama holds a high rank in the Buddhist religion) whose name was Adato. This man was a master of the Buddhist teachings and was proficient in the fighting arts that existed at the time (Tibetan wrestling and grappling techniques).

Adato was cultivating himself with meditation in the remote mountains of Tibet, where one day during his meditation he was aroused by a noise nearby, where he observed two animals fighting with each other for the sake of survival. He witnessed an elegant Tibetan white crane, that was standing in a shallow pool fishing, then to his surprise he observed an ape appear from behind the cover of the undergrowth. The crane was confronted by the ape.

The crane and the ape circled each other for some time, until the ape finally lunged at the white crane. Thinking that the elegant crane would be easily overcome by the strength and size of the ape, Adato felt compassion for the fragile bird.

However, to his surprise, the white crane evaded the ape's lethal grasp at the very last moment then pecked at the ape's eye. Adato watched in astonishment as the stricken ape ran back into the undergrowth holding it's eye and screaming in pain.

The Crane then returned to fishing, as if nothing had occurred. Adato had gained enlightenment, from this experience. It was this enlightenment that marked the beginning of the White Crane style.

Adato, developed a fighting system based on the movements of the White Crane to became a most learned and versatile Chinese Martial Arts exponent. Initially the fighting system he developed was called the "Lion-Roar" techniques. The style was later changed to Pak Hok Chung by Lama Dologutan

Lama Dologutan instructed Lama Hsing Lung, who was to become his disciple. Hsing Lung was later moved to South China, where he was to break the rules and accepted disciples who were not Lama's. One of the most noted was Wong Lam Hoi, who is the Great Grand Master of the Pak Hok Style of Kung Fu.

Wong Lam Hoi's direct representative was Ng Siu Cheong, who is recognised as the principle exponent of the Pak Hok Style. Ng had many disciples, the most world renowned being Chan Hak Fu, (Grand Master). Chan Hak Fu is the founder of Pak Hok Kung Fu International, which was established in Sydney, Australia in 1972.

Master Chan's direct representative in Sydney, Australia is now Ernest Kin Cheong MA. Mr Ma is the Trustee of Pak Hok Kung Fu Australia Incorporated.
